National School Lunch Program (NSLP)

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) established in 1946 under President Truman, is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child-care institutions.


It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.

The School Breakfast Program (SBP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and non-profit private schools and residential child care institutions.

Child & Adult Care Feeding Program (CACFP)

The CACFP is the primary program for schools, districts and nonprofit sponsors to provide a snack and supper to at-risk students as well as students involved in afterschool sports, enrichment and study programs. This program offers a lot of flexibility in program administration and can generate revenue for the participating school, district or sponsor.

Summer Feeding Service Program (SFSP)

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), also known as the Summer Meals Program, is a federally-funded, state-administered program. SFSP reimburses program operators who serve free healthy meals and snacks to children and teens in low-income areas.
